Who we are

OLHI is Canada’s independent insurance complaint resolution service. We are dedicated to reviewing life, disability, extended health care & dental insurance, travel insurance, and insurance investment product complaints for consumers.

OLHI was established in 2002 and operates under the oversight of the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators (CCIR) to provide a free and impartial dispute resolution service between consumers and insurers.

Life and health insurance companies are required by law to support an impartial dispute resolution service. While ninety-nine percent of Canadian insurance companies are OLHI members, the majority of OLHI’s Board are Directors independent of the life and health insurance industry. OLHI provides free and impartial dispute resolution services in English and French to any Canadian consumer whose insurance company is an OLHI member.
